Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) Holds Career Fair at OhioMeansJobs Stark County Center

On October 9^th, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) sponsored a National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) event, including a Career Fair and a Hiring Event.  The Career Fair took place at the OhioMeansJobs Stark County Center and the Hiring Event took place at the Canton OOD office (both located at the 30^th Street Centre in Canton). 

OOD participants were involved with this event;  OOD participants are individuals who are eligible for services through Opportunities for Ohioans for Disabilities (OOD) and are active job seekers. The event had 11 participating employers with a total of 42 participants. 4 participants were given job offers on the spot. In addition, 27 individuals participated in interviews, and a total of 46 interviews were scheduled. The new OOD Mobile Unit was on-site at the event in the parking lot. This unit served as a job application station and a prep area for applicants waiting for their interviews.
